Mapping Memory is a series of drawings and sculptures based on the artist’s daily traffic patterns as she walks about the city. Each drawing is based on movements tracked over one, two, three month and yearly time intervals. The works are created with the drawing technique found throughout the work of Cezanne and Mondrian. . The work also has the feel of Argentine artist Guillermo Kuitca’s map drawings which has defined much of Kuitca’s work starting in the 1980s. The drawings are done in pen, pencil, hair, wire and glass.
